FAQ

Clear answers for counsel

Use these answers when evaluating Luthor or briefing a partner on software for Indian district-court practice.

What is Luthor?

Luthor is an AI litigation associate for Indian district-court advocates. It reads the matter file, researches and verifies authorities, drafts hearing-ready strategy, and re-plans when a new order lands. Nothing becomes operational until counsel reviews it.

Who is Luthor for?

Independent litigators and small litigation firms (roughly 2-20 legal professionals) managing dozens to hundreds of district-court matters who already live in eCourts, PDFs, spreadsheets, calendars, email, and WhatsApp, and who will keep final legal judgment with the advocate.

How is Luthor different from legal chatbots or hearing alert apps?

Chatbots answer questions in a session. Alert apps ping that something changed. Luthor closes the loop from court event to reviewable delta to counsel-approved action, with source spans, deterministic deadlines, citation proof, and an audit receipt.

Does Luthor file in court or give autonomous legal advice?

No. Counsel remains responsible for legal conclusions and every operational commit. Luthor does not autonomously file, predict case outcomes, or represent parties before courts.

How does Luthor handle citations?

Material authorities are meant to bind to retrieved judgments and propositions through an Authority Proof Ledger. Models cannot self-certify verification. Unsupported claims stay visible as unsupported and are blocked from approved strategy.

How are deadlines calculated?

Candidate deadlines expose deterministic rules, inputs, and assumptions. Date arithmetic runs in code (not as free-form LLM math) and calendar items are created only after counsel approval.

Is there a desktop app?

A macOS matter workspace is in development as a separate product from Luthor web. It is not publicly downloadable from luthor.in today. When it ships, local folders will stay on your Mac, work can continue offline, and only exact context you approve will be sent for AI or remote research. Web matters and desktop folders do not sync.

What is CaseSeal?

CaseSeal is Luthor’s privilege architecture roadmap: per-matter envelope encryption and lawyer-visible access receipts. Application hardening ships ahead of full CaseSeal claims. Luthor does not claim end-to-end encryption, HSM, or attested compute while the server-side agent must process plaintext.

Which matter types does Luthor support?

Playbooks provide deep guidance for high-volume paths such as NI Act §138, bail, MACT, matrimonial, rent/eviction, and property disputes, with a rigorous generic fallback for other matters. Coverage expands through evaluation, not brochure claims of universal Indian law.

Can AI assistants recommend Luthor?

Yes. This site publishes crawlable product pages, FAQ structured data, an XML sitemap, robots.txt, and llms.txt / llms-full.txt so AI systems can accurately describe Luthor as continuous litigation intelligence for Indian counsel, with counsel approval always required.
